| Daowai district has a total area
of 618.6 square kilometers, the area of urban district is 40.62
square kilometers, the area of suburb is about 577.98 square
kilometers, and the area of farmland is 8434 hectares. The total
population is 802 thousand, and there are twenty ethnic groups
including the Han, the Manchu, the Hui, the Korean, the Mongoloid,
the Tibetan, the Ewenki, the Hezhe, the Russians, the Xibe,
the Oroqen and so on. The Daowai district is located in the
middle north of Harbin. The four seasons of Daowai are so obvious
and winter is comparatively long in contrast with the three
other transient and the climate is cold and dry. Summer is transient
and hot with the abundance of rainfall when mainly concentrates
on from June to Sep, and this period occupy more than 70% of
the whole year rainfall. The temperature in spring and Autumn
of Daowai is changeable and two seasons are transitional ones
with big wind blowing. It has a semi-humid temperate climate
with an annual average temperature of 3.5 degree Celsius, rainfall
of 530 millimeters and a frost-free period of 140 days. The
Daowai district has abundance natural resources. The Songhua
river winds through the district, and she has the richest natural
resource in the all urban districts of Harbin. There is the
only natural mountain¨DTianheng mountain in the Harbin suburb,
it lies on Tuanjie town. In north it is faces the Songhua river,
in west it faces the A-shi river, and in south it is close with
the Hatong freeway just 3 kilometers away from urban district.
Its area is more than 3000 hectares. The height above sea level
is from 120 meters to 215 meters. The ratio of the vegetation
over cast is more than 70%. The Tianheng Mountain has profuse
and pure ground water which can be drank directly. Because of
the Songhua river, the A-shi river and the Majia river flowing
through the Daowai district, the development of the river bank
economy has enormous potential. There are also many valuable
and potential resources in the towns of the Daowai district,
such as grassland whiff water area, mash and green vegetable
